My next phone
... will run on Mac OS X.

Lately the signal strength of my Treo 600 has diminished. I fear the external antenna has gotten a blow at some point. Living out here in the farmland, where mobile phone coverage isn’t as great as in denser populated areas doesn’t help the situation.
So I’ve been thinking of getting a new one, although I wasn’t quite sure which way to go. Of course, the Treo 680 would be an option, albeit an expensive one. I’d started thinking of getting a phone running something other than Palm OS, since it’s possible to get sponsored phones for next to nothing.
Well, I guess I’ll be dropping Palm OS in about a year’s time.

Hey Jørn!
My next phone must have the following capabilities: 3G, Wifi, camera (a real one), mp3 player, GPS, lots of memory (8GB at least), e-mail and other PDA functions.
My phone is now more than 3 years (P900), and I will not replace it before I can have a phone with all of the above. In that case I can sell my Canon Ixus, my Ipod, my Garmin GPS and so on.
Whoa, long time no see, Ola! :-)
Well, the iPhone will have 3G, wifi, camera (only 2Mp, but then again I have a Canon 300D), music, email etc., and the top model will have 8GB of memory.
Yes, GPS would be nice too, but not a major point for me. And I don’t see that coming in the iPhone any time soon—although who knows, couple GPS with the map functionality already on the device, and you’d get one killer GPS gadget.
The iPhone, as presently announced, will at least merge my phone and my old 3G iPod, and hopefully the camera will be a step up from the Treo 600’s really sucky one. I think 8GB is a bit small, so maybe I’ll wait for the next generation, but I really don’t want to …
The iphone sure looks exciting, but it’s not 3G, 8Gb can’t really replace my 30G ipod, and the camera is only 2MP. I’m not quite sure about the touch-screen either.
I’ve got a Nikon D50 for taking “real” photos, but the size limits the use, a compact camera is much more conveniant. I hope my next phone will make the compact camera redundant.
Did you get my answer on your mail btw?
