December 2, 2005: Getting stuff my brain

About getting words on your brain.

Everyone sometimes gets a song on their brain. But sometimes, I get words or phrases. Often out of the blue, for no apparent reason, and without me hearing or reading it, at least not that I’ve been consciously aware of. Like the songs, these words or phrases will repeat themselves over and over. It’s like my brain really, really likes them and feel the need to repeat them over and over, to my great annoyance, of course.

Today was such a time, and today’s words were: “Joan Armatrading”

I have never, ever intently or even half-consciously listened to a song by Joan Armatrading, and I can not for the life of me remember hearing or seeing her name lately. Still, my brain was like an annoying child all day: “Joan Armatrading. Joan Armatrading. Joan ARMATRADING!”

Finally I gave in and searched her up in iTunes Music Store, just to know what kind of music it was. And after listening to some of her “best of”s, and also a record published in 2003, I concluded that she’s stuck in the eighties.

Anyway, my brain seems to be satisfied now.

On another note, I wrote an article on how to set up Tracks on TextDrive. Exactly why I’m setting up Tracks, and what it is, is for another post, maybe tomorrow. Now I need to start playing with it!
